I was shocked and sadden to read this horrible news.  As we prepare for our 20th reunion I couldn't believe my eyes when I say Bill Downer's name in the memorial section.

I want to pass on my personal thanks to his serve to our country and for his family during this tragic time.

I remember when we were cadets.  I didn't know Bill well, other than we where both Army contract guys and in the same BN.  I was walking through the parking lot and happen to see him moving something around in the trunk of his car...it turned out to be a military rifle "I think".  I said wow what the heck is that thing doing there....He said it was for hunting.... I laughed...I guess he was always destined to be a warrior.

I will be thinking of your example to us all in your home away from home; The Citadel in a few weeks.
