Class party to be held Friday, Nov 4th at the Carolina Yacht Club on East Battery (7pm - 11pm). Saturday's tailgate should be awesome as we have the entire South Terrace on top of the stadium. Will have bbq, open bar, cookies, etc. from 1 pm until 30 minutes after the game. Saturday night is General Leave for all with no curfew. 

We are finalizing the merchandise items (shirt, hat, etc) and hope to have online registration available within the next 7-10 days. We are currently at about $180/adult for Fri party and Sat tailgate. Some items (football tix, transportation to/from party and/or tailgate, merchandise) will be a la carte. Kids will be much cheaper obviously - probably $15 per event. FYI - everybody that wants access to our tailgate party on the Terrace MUST have a football ticket. They should be $30 each - more details when the Brigadier Foundation makes a decision.

Every company now has a volunteer representative that will be responsible for contacting our classmates and making sure they have all the information. This information will be sent to the representatives as soon as it's finalized. I will post this information on this website as well as our class' Facebook page. This website is where we will do the online registration so please make sure you're registered and your contact information is current.

I apologize for not having all this squared away sooner but your Reunion Committee just wants to make sure the weekend is damn near perfect. Look forward to seeing everybody in November!





On 10 August 2016 at Fort Lee, VA, I assumed command as the 40th Chief of Ordnance and Commandant of the United States Army Ordnance School.

Greetings Class of 1991 from Bill Lind…

Hope this finds you all well as we enter the second quarter-century since we last darkened the doors of The Citadel as members of the Long Gray Line.

I recently took a position on the senior staff at The Citadel, and I can tell you there are great things going on in the Corps and around campus. Much has changed since May 1991, almost all of it for the better. And while change is inevitable and necessary, I can say the core experience and molding of Principled Leaders we expect from our Alma Mater is as challenging and rewarding as it was when we entered in 1987.

The reason I’m writing today is to make you aware of a great annual event, The Bulldog Kickoff Classic. Started eighteen years ago, it strives to combine Citadel fellowship and a good time (through golf and an after-golf shrimp boil) with fundraising for Brigadier Club scholarships. During its first year, the Classic netted around $3,000; last year, that figure had grown to over $100,000. We are expecting this year to be the biggest ever, and I am assisting our Class Chair Fred Ulmer in getting the word out.

The great thing about the Kickoff Classic is who runs it, and how it functions. The Classic was conceived and is run by ‘regular’ alumni, most of whom are not associated with the school in any other way. They keep overhead low while putting on a first-class tournament and after party… just good Citadel folks putting on a great event, and raising money for the school.

Proceeds from the event, as well as donations made by folks not able to participate are credited directly to Class Scholarships. Funds generated by ’91 also count toward our Reunion Year ‘tally’ with The Citadel Foundation. In terms of Brigadier Foundation goals, every dollar ’91 contributes goes toward establishing and maintaining a ‘named’ Class Scholarship. While it takes $25,000 to establish a Class Scholarship (we have several years to hit that mark), we get recognized as a Class once we exceed $2,000, and every dollar goes to funding Brigadier Club scholarships no matter what our tally may be.

This is the last communication (I’m emailing and posting on FB as well as the ’91 website) you’ll get from Fred or I, unless you’ve questions, so no pestering. I’ve kicked it off for ’91 with a $500 Corporate Sponsorship in the name of The Class of 1991, so pile on. Many classes exceed $10,000 for The Kickoff Classic, so ante up what you can… many donations which established other classes scholarships were made of $5, $10 and $25 gifts. To be clear, a lot of each Class’ totals comes from straight donation, not just the proceeds from guys golfing.

Come out and play on 18 August… we are running three courses this year (Links and Harbor at Wild Dunes, and Patriot’s Point), and the Shrimp Boil wraps up the day at Patriot’s for all players. If you can’t play, or are out of the area, consider a donation. If you send a check or donate online, be sure to indicate you’re from the Class which was truly ‘Last of the Old Corps!’ Here’s how:
